Beijing Theatre

Beijing culture is there to be experienced during your trip to this great city. When you are ready to enjoy a nice night at the theater, prepare to be entertained. Beijing offers a number of international music and theater events every year, including the entertaining Beijing Symphony Orchestra. If you want to experience more of the performing arts, check out the Beijing Concert Hall (010-6605-5812) and The Poly Theater (010-6500-1188, ext. 5127), located in the Poly Plaza complex on the East Third Ring Road. This theater can be reached by taking the northeast exit of the Dongsi Shi Tiao metro station and is home to many large-scale performances, as well as the ballet. Are you interested in enjoying a night filled with opera? Check out entertaining performances held at Liyuan Theater at the Qianmen Hotel (175 Yongan Lu, Chongwen District, +86 10-6301-6688) and the Changan Grand Theater (7 Jianguomenwai Dajie, Chaoyang District, +86 10-6510-1308). Tickets run about 100RMB.

You will hear some opera among other things when you visit this Beijing gem. Try to catch one of several performances daily until 4:30pm. Tickets are ¥60 ($8).

This opera theater is sure to please anyone who enters. Performances are usually held on most nights at 7:30pm, but it is wise to call and check ahead of time. Tickets range from ¥150-¥280 ($19-$35).
